Fall Hues At SMU

Last weekend, I went with my family to walk around the gorgeous campus of Southern Methodist University! We visited a bunch of interesting buildings on campus: the journalism building, the business building, and the fine arts center, to name a few. This was my first time visiting SMU, and it is simply beautiful! I love all of the red brick buildings and greenery everywhere - it's definitely the prettiest college campus I've ever visited.

After walking around for a few hours, we went to a little pizza place called Olivella's that was right off campus, and it was amazing - their dough and sauces are all handmade, and the pizzas taste so fresh and delicious. After that, we went to Society Bakery for dessert, and I had the best cupcake I think I've ever had. The bakery is so cute, and they have all of their beautifully frosted cakes on display. I was in a food coma by the end of the day, but if you're in the Dallas area, I definitely recommend both places.

Fall is my favorite season, but in Dallas it's just so hard to wear fall clothes due to the weather. It was around 85 degrees when we went, but there was a cool breeze, so I was able to wear jeans without getting too hot. One of my favorite ways to wear fall clothes in hot weather is to incorporate darker, more subdued colors into my wardrobe. This top from Francesca's is the best because it's short-sleeved and super thin but the color is perfect for fall, and lace-up necklines are so trendy right now. I actually stole it from my mom, haha, but it was the perfect shirt to wear!

It might not sound like the best idea to wear heeled boots while walking around a college campus all day, but these are actually really comfortable! My feet didn't hurt at all, even after walking around for five hours. I've worn them while walking through Dallas before, and they've never let me down. I also wore my one of my favorite pairs of jeans (these are my favorites but the ones I'm wearing are a close second... Francesca's never lets me down!) and some simple gold jewelry to finish off the look.

Overall, it was such a fun day - I loved getting to tour SMU and could definitely see myself going there one day. Thanks for reading!
